چکیده

Soft-materials that respond to external stimuli are very useful for application in soft robotics, stretchable electronics, biomedical applications etc. Recent times have seen a surge research of magnetically activated polymers due their wide range material properties, and important features such as non-contact, fast non-invasive actuation. Furthermore, these ask Hard-magnetic particles, which can retain magnetization even after the applied magnetic field has been removed. In this work, we focus on developing thermodynamically-consistent analytical solution large bending deformation hard-magnetic hyperelastic beams under influence an uniform field. The principal stress cross-sections, arise anticlastic were also calculated. Lastly, Prony series approximation was used encapsulate time dependent response properties beam. model verified by comparing results previously developed experimental, numerical results.

An Efficient Finite Element Formulation Based on Deformation Approach for Bending of Functionally Graded Beams

Finite element formulations based generally on classical beam theories such as Euler-Bernoulli or Timoshenko. Sometimes, these two formulations could be problematic expressed in terms of restrictions of Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, in case of thicker beams due to non-consideration of transverse shear; phenomenon that is known as shear locking characterized the Timoshenko beam theory, in case of...

Sensor enabled closed-loop bending control of soft beams

Control of soft-bodied systems is challenging, as the absence of rigidity typically implies distributed deformations and infinite degrees-of-freedom. In this paper, we demonstrate closedloop control of three elastomer beams that vary in bending stiffness. The most stiff beam is comprised of a single prismatic structure made from a single elastomer. In the next beam, increased flexibility is int...

Ritz Method Application to Bending, Buckling and Vibration Analyses of Timoshenko Beams via Nonlocal Elasticity

Bending, buckling and vibration behaviors of nonlocal Timoshenko beams are investigated in this research using a variational approach. At first, the governing equations of the nonlocal Timoshenko beams are obtained, and then the weak form of these equations is outlined in this paper. The Ritz technique is selected to investigate the behavior of nonlocal beams with arbitrary boundary conditions ...

Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Bending of Straight Beams Using hp-Spectral Approximations

Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed using traditional finite element interpolations (i.e., Hermite cubic or equi-spaced Lagrange functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, total rotation φ and/or shear strain γxz, or in the integral form u...
